Noble Die Spring Units are self contained, commercially available assemblies that allow removal of the stripper plate without dismantling springs. Socket cap screws, or socket flat head screws for thin plates, retain the stripper plate to the Spring Units. Since stripping pressures are self-contained, thinner stripper plates can be used and stripper bolts are not required.

What They Are
Stripping Spring Units are compact, self-contained units designed to deliver exact standardized stripping pressure for conventional blocking and forming dies. Stripping spring units from Noble Die Components offer time and cost saving in nearly all phases of die design, building, and maintenance.
Die/Mold Designers
• Reliably uniform units ready for fast installation (no need to worry about springs being of different lengths and spring rates)
• No more time wasted on spring research (no need to compare apples to oranges across dozens of spring catalogs)
• Eliminate radial movement within the die (smoother running dies & happier customers)
• Preload and strength of units allow the use of thinner stripper plates (save on material cost)
• Certain designs allow the elimination of the need for a stripper plate (save on material and machining costs)
• Stack units to achieve different lengths and travel (flexible)
Die/Mold Builders
• No milling of blind pockets or spring wells (reduce build time)
• No counterboring for stripper bolts (reduce build time)
Die/Mold Maintenance Personnel
• Faster, easier (no pressure) removal of stripper plate
• No nicked or broken punches
• Possible in-press maintenance of die parts (follow all safety rules)
• No smashed dies from broken spring fragments loose in the die
Usage Tips
• Use as a stripper
• Use as a lifter
• Use nested around die to eliminate stripper plate on large parts with widely spaced holes
• If a stripper plate is used with many stripping spring units, some may not need to be attached to stripper plate
• Don’t let stripper plate screw end enter travel zone
• Don’t overstroke – stay within travel specifications
